The “Conversations of the World” place together men and women from different parts of the world and different experiences that share the struggle for human dignity and the belief that another world is possible and necessary. Departing from the idea that the understanding of the world by far exceeds the western understanding of the world, these conversations do not intend to homogenise the difference but to stimulate the valorisation and the sharing of the infinite diversity of the world. The Conversations of the World result from a challenge launched by the ALICE project, coordinated by Boaventura de Sousa Santos and based at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra. A summary film has been produced and it is available in this page. The film combines some moments of Conversations of the World held between Boaventura de Sousa Santos and Dhirubhai Lal Sheth, Mogobe B. Ramose, Leonardo Boff, Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, Tarso Genro e Valentin Y. Mudimbe. The Conversations were recorded in Brazil, Mozambique, South Africa, India, and Bolivia.
