Summary
If we are critical to modern science and the role that the University comes in compliance with the capital’s civilization reproduction, how to build academic Praxis against hegemonic, that articulated to communities, organizations and social movements, producing knowledge and form teachers who can contribute with emancipation processes driven by social “vulnerabilizados” groups? Will be presented and learned by the core challenges “Tramas” – Work, environment and health, the Federal University of Ceará/Brazil, in dialogue with this issue.

Bio Note
Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1979), specialist in occupational medicine for the Fundacentro (1980), a master’s degree in education from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1992) and PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Ceará (2004). Associate Professor of the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Ceará, where she develops teaching activities, research, and extension in the area of public health, with emphasis on the topics: development, health & Environment and Health Worker . Her line of research in the graduate program in public health at the UFC’s production, environment, health and culture in Northeast Brazil. Through the Core “Tramas”-Work, environment and health, coordinated by it, concluded research projects on socio-environmental conflicts ongoing in Ceará, such as industrialization, shrimp farming, footwear industry and pesticides, all supported by CNPq. Currently conducts investigations of the national irrigation policy and agribusiness; pesticides and cancer; and uranium mining in Ceará. Was Counsellor National Health Board holder. Participates in the GT Health and Environment of the Brazilian Association of collective health-Abrasco and Brazil Environmental Justice Network.
