Boaventura de Sousa Santos explores the economic alternatives to the endless accumulation of capitalism and the destruction of the environment. The study of non-capitalist forms of organisation, within the perspective of a plural economy, includes recognising and valuing initiatives such as cooperatives, fair trade, political ecology, time banks, etc.
