ALICE team member Tshepo Madlingozi has written a chapter entitled “Social movements and the Constitutional Court of South Africa” where he describes the impacts generated by Constitutional Court on social movement struggles and trajectories. This chapter is part of the book “Transformative Constitutionalism: comparing apex courts in India, Brazil and South Africa”. It was a collaboration between academics in India, Brazil and South Africa. The book is edited by Upendra Baxi, Frans Viljoen, and Oscar Vilhena. The book has 28 chapters and deals with wide-ranging aspects of constitutionalism in these three countries. The full book can be obtained here.
