ALICE Interview (17) – Inês Macamo Raimundo

Video in Portuguese

Short Description:

Inês Macamo Raimundo explains that the main factors in forced displacement in Mozambique have been more recently, natural disasters, forcing many Mozambicans have more than one residence, often crossing national borders. In her view, this permanent mobility creates an adverse context for economic security and formal training of populations.
Inês Macamo Raimundo states that forced displacements had an important historical moment when civil wars called, whose 16 years strongly impacted populations. Before that, remember the impact of Colonialism: through the Colonial war/war of liberation and through slavery, the chibalo (forced labour) and the hut tax.
