Epistemologies of the South: South-South Dialogues and Intercultural Translations, a Public Lecture by Boaventura de Sousa Santos

Prof. Boaventura de Sousa Santos of the University of Coimbra (Portugal) will be at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to present a public lecture entitled ‘Epistemologies of the South: South-South Dialogues and Intercultural Translations’.
Abstract:
Neoliberal globalization is including difference kinds of south-south dialogues both among states and among social movements. Prof. Boaventura will focus on the latter and indicate the need for new strategies of knowledge production and validation and for new global learning based on the ideas of ecology of knowledges and intercultural translation.
